Schweizer und Taschenlabels passt irgendwie gut zusammen. Das Erfolgsrezept von Qwstion basiert auf drei einfachen Grundsätzen: gutes und praktisches Design, nachhaltige Materialien und faire Produktion. Angetreten sind die die Gründer ihr Projekt aus einem ganz einfachen Grund: es gab keine Rucksäcke, die ihrem Stil entsprachen und praktisch waren. Also haben sie es selbst gemacht und Qwstion gegründet. Passenderweise war ein Industriedesigner mit an Board, so dass die reduziert praktischen Designs aus der eigenen Feder bald Anklang im Freundeskreis fanden. Mittlerweile ist aus dem kleinen Projekt eine Firma mit über 20 Mitarbeiter*innen gewachsen.
Produziert wird natürlich nicht mehr im eigenen Atelier, sondern in Asien. Genauer in China. Die Gründer sind überzeugt, dass dies die richtige Entscheidung war, da so die Zulieferer möglichst nah an den Fertigungsbetrieben liegen. Denn auch das pflanzlich gegerbte Leder und die Bio-Baumwolle bezieht Qwstion in der Nähe von Hongkong. Die PFD-freie Beschichtung der Rucksäcke und Taschen ist nicht nur praktisch und wasserabweisend, sondern auch frei von PFCs. Diese Stoffe werden in nahezu allen wasserabweisenden Produkten verwandt und verteilen sich durch Abreibung überall in der Umwelt. Zudem sind sie noch gesundheitsschädlich und bauen sich nur über lange Zeiträume ab.

After all, Qwstion also sources the vegetable-tanned leather and organic cotton near Hong Kong. The PFD-free coating on the backpacks and bags is not only practical and water-repellent, but also free of PFCs. These substances are used in almost all water-repellent products and spread everywhere in the environment through abrasion. In addition, they are still harmful to health and degrade only over long periods of time.
