Merz b Schwanen produziert seit 1911 Basics mit hoher Qualität in Deutschland und Portugal. Dafür nutzt das Unternehmen ausschließlich Bio- Baumwolle, recycelte Baumwolle und Mulesing-freie Merinowolle. Besonders ist auch die Herstellung der textilen Flächen. Einige Stoffe werden im Süden von Deutschland in Albstadt auf Rundwirkmaschinen (Loopwheelern) produziert. Diese oft über 100 Jahre alte Maschinen, die es so in der Textilindustrie kaum noch gibt, benötigen besonders wenig Energie. Merz  b. Schwanen hat sie wieder zum Leben erweckt und erhält damit textile Tradition in Deutschland aufrecht. Die besondere Wirkart der Produkte verleiht den Basics einen einzigartigen Vintage Touch und hält sie besonders lange schön und robust.

Merz b Schwanen has been producing high-quality basics in Germany and Portugal since 1911. The company only uses organic cotton, recycled cotton and mulesing-free merino wool. The production of the textiles is unique. Fabrics are produced in the south of Germany in Albstadt on loopwheelers. These machines, which are often over 100 years old and hardly exist any more in the textile industry, require very little energy. Merz b. Schwanen has brought them back to life, thus maintaining textile tradition in Germany. The special knitting method of the products gives the basics a unique vintage touch and keeps them beautiful and robust for a long time.
