Lana

Die Geschichte von Pionieren beginnt oft mit einem ungelösten Problem, einem Keller oder einer Garage. Bei Lana war es 1987 nicht anders. Denn die Kinder von Hermann und Anne Kohnen sollten keine Plastikwindeln und Bayklamotten aus Kunstfasern tragen, sondern natürliche Windeln und Klamotten aus schadstofffreien Naturstoffen. So schafften sich die jungen Eltern eine Strickmaschine an und begannen eigene Windeln, Strampler und alles was man sonst so braucht selbst zu stricken. So etwas spricht sich schnell rum im Freundeskreis. Und irgendwann wurde ein kleines Unternehmen daraus. Schnell entwächst Lana dem hauseigenen Keller, den Kinderkollektionen und dem Selberstricken. Neben Shootings und Katalogen arbeitet man bei Lana jetzt auch an Themen wie Zertifizierungen und neuen Produktionsstätten im europäischen Ausland. Mittlerweile ist die eigene Tochter, für die die Windeln mal gestrickt wurden, für das Design verantwortlich und alle Ökostoffe, die Lana einsetzt sind nach dem GOTS Standard zertifiziert.

The story of pioneers often begins with an unsolved problem, a cellar or a garage. It was no different for Lana in 1987. For Hermann and Anne Kohnen's children should not wear plastic nappies and bay clothes made of synthetic fibres, but natural nappies and clothes made of pollutant-free natural materials. So the young parents bought a knitting machine and started to knit their own nappies, rompers and everything else they needed. Word of this spreads quickly among friends. And at some point it became a small business. Lana quickly outgrew her own cellar, the children's collections and knitting herself. In addition to shootings and catalogues, Lana now also works on topics such as certifications and new production sites in other European countries. Meanwhile, Lana's own daughter, for whom the nappies were once knitted, is responsible for the design and all the eco-fabrics Lana uses are certified according to the GOTS standard.
