Reisen sind ja bekanntlich Quellen von Inspiration. So auch für Pauline Marie Treis, die während einer Reise durch Kolumbien auf die Idee für ihr eigenes nachhaltiges Label kam. Die studierte Politikwissenschaftlerin wuchs in München und der Schweiz auf und kam durch den Fachbereich der Internationalen Beziehungen mit dem Thema nachhaltige Entwicklung in Kontakt. Die Idee ein eigenes Projekt zu gründen, mit dem sie die traditionellen Techniken, das Handwerk Kolumbiens unterstützen kann und dabei gleichzeitig nachhaltige Mode zu produzieren, treibt die Gründerin an. Dabei setzt die Designerin weniger auf Kollektionsrhythmen als auf zeitlose Klassiker in hoher Qualität. Ein Kleidungsstück von Jungle Folk soll durch das Tragen ein persönlicher Begleiter werden, den man liebt.

Bei den Materialien setzt Jungle Folk auf ökologisch zertifizierte Naturstoffe und ergänzend auf recycelte Kunstfasern. So wird sichergestellt, dass aus einem zeitlosen Klassiker auch ein lang tragbarer Klassiker wird. Die kleine Produktion der Brand besteht aus einem festen Team von Kunsthandwerkern und Näherinnen, die die Produkte in Kolumbien in Handarbeit herstellen. Jungle Folk uses ecologically certified natural materials and recycled synthetic fibres. This ensures that a timeless classic also becomes a long-wearing classic. The small production of the brand consists of a permanent team of artisans and seamstresses who make the products by hand in Colombia. On the homepage, the label briefly introduces the employees so that everyone can get an impression of who made their own product and how time-consuming it actually is to produce clothing.
