Dawn heißt vom englischen wörtlich übersetzt “Beginn” oder “Morgendämmerung”. Und wie die Dämmerung den Neubeginn eines Tages markieren soll, will auch Dawn Denim frischen Wind in die Jeansproduktion bringen. Abseits vom Massenprodukt aus billiger Produktion setzen die MacherInnen von Dawn auf traditionell hergestellte und qualitiativ hochwertige japanische Denimstoffe. So definiert Dawn Denim Nachhaltigkeit nicht als Zustand, sondern als Weg hin zu einer umweltfreundlicheren Produktion. Dabei bedienen sich die DesignerInnen bei alten Tugenden, im Wissen darum, dass langlebige Kleidung am Ende nachhaltiger ist, als schnell ausgetragene Produkte aus zertifizierter Produktion. Nichtsdestotrotz wird bei Dawn Denim auf faire Produktion großen Wert gelegt und das in der eigenen Produktion in Vietnam.

Dawn literally means "the beginning" or  describes "the light to start the day". And just as dawn is supposed to mark the new beginning of a day, Dawn Denim also wants to bring a breath of fresh air into the jeans production. Away from mass-produced cheap denim: the makers of Dawn Denim rely on traditionally produced and high-quality Japanese denim fabrics. Dawn Denim defines sustainability not as a condition, but as a path towards more environmentally friendly production. In doing so, the designers use the old and traditional knowledge of pattern making and designing, with a reminder that long-lasting clothing is more sustainable in the end than quickly worn-out products from certified production. Nevertheless, Dawn Denim pays attention to fair production in its own production in Vietnam.
